What does Plant Over Processed mean?

Plant over processed is a rule I made for myself when I first attempted a health change 5 years ago and is still the golden rule I follow today. The idea is to structure your diet to include more fresh, natural plant foods while limiting the consumption of processed foods for ultimate health. I told myself, I can still eat processed foods if I really want but first I need to fill up on something plant. What I realized was I was training my hand to grab something healthy in those moments you really want to grab a candy bar or sink your teeth into your normal guilty pleasures. By telling myself I can still have these guilty pleasures after I have something plant was a fair enough compromise to stick to it long term. Little did I know that this very rule would train myself to grab nutritional whole foods when hungry strikes, and curb cravings which ultimately helped me stick to my health goals! Before I knew it I no longer desired the processed favorites like I once did and I was transforming into the healthiest version of myself! This simple rule transformed my health and ultimately changed my life!
